2026 Arbor Day Tree Giveaway
Join us at the Paepcke Park as we celebrate Arbor Day. We’ll be giving away 100 trees (6-12ft tall!) to Aspen residents; and we’ll have a raffle with giveaway items, forestry-themed kids’ shirts, games and activities, and light refreshments.
Qualifications and Requirements
- You must register for the event using this link to receive a free tree.
- You must be a resident within the City of Aspen.
- The tree must be planted within Aspen city limits. If you are unsure whether your property is within city limits, you can check the Community Forestry tree map (city boundaries can be toggled on in the legend).
- Working with a City arborist ahead of time is encouraged. Arborists are available to help you select the right species and planting location for your property ahead of the event.Reach out to trees@aspen.gov or 970-544-2555 to schedule a free consultation.
- Scheduling a consultation also give you the opportunity to reserve your tree species. You can review the tree species list ahead of time to see what will be available. Trees species are limited and are distributed first come, first served to registered participants.
Trees must be planted using best planting practices. Please review this planting guide from the Colorado State Forest Service for step-by-step instructions on how to properly plant and care for your tree.
*Trees are limited to one per household so we can share the opportunity with as many residents as possible.
