2026 Arbor Day Tree Giveaway
Celebrate Arbor Day by picking up a free tree and helping grow a healthier, more resilient urban forest! Join us at Paepcke Park on Saturday, June 6th, from 10:00 am to 12:00pm as we celebrate Arbor Day. We’ll be giving away free trees* to Aspen residents to help grow a healthier, more resilient urban canopy.
Qualifications and Requirements
- You must register for the event using this link to receive a free tree.
- You must be a resident within the City of Aspen.
- The tree must be planted within Aspen city limits. If you are unsure whether your property is within city limits, you can check the Community Forestry tree map (city boundaries can be toggled on in the legend).
- Working with a City arborist ahead of time is encouraged. Arborists are available to help you select the right species and planting location for your property ahead of the event. Scheduling a consultation also give you the opportunity to reserve your tree species. You can review the tree species list ahead of time to see what will be available. Trees species are limited and are distributed first come, first served to registered participants.
Trees must be planted using best planting practices. Please review this planting guide from the Colorado State Forest Service for step-by-step instructions on how to properly plant and care for your tree.
*Trees are limited to one per household so we can share the opportunity with as many residents as possible. If additional trees are available the week of the event, waitlisted households may become eligible.
