FLAG FOOTBALL 2026
Registration for Spring Boys' Flag Football and Spring Females in Flag will both open on February 23rd and will be open for 4 weeks or until all spots are filled. Please know that because most of our fields are covered with snow through the spring, our field space is limited; therefore, our team registration is limited as well. Registration will close on March 20th. PLEASE NOTE: This is a hard deadline, and no late registrations will be taken.
Season Begins: April 6th
Season Ends: May 8th
General Information
This is an Aspen/Snowmass League, in which teams play other teams from Aspen and Snowmass. There are three co-ed playing age divisions (Kinder, 1st/2nd Grade, and 3rd/4th Grade). All teams will practice twice a week on Monday/Wednesday OR Tuesday/Thursday in Aspen. Practice times and spaces will be determined after registration depending on coaches’ and field availability. All games will take place in either Snowmass or Aspen on Friday evenings.
Females in Flag is our girls’ only league in which teams will travel between Aspen and Glenwood Springs to play against other girls’ only teams. There are two playing age divisions (3rd/4th and 5th/6th). All teams will practice twice a week based on the availability of players and coaches. Please note that if you sign up for Females in Flag but there are not enough players for a team to compete, the girls will still practice and learn the basics of flag football for the season.
PLEASE NOTE: This will be the last spring we offer flag football as we do not have the field space due to snow-melt to keep up with the demand for flag football in the springtime and want to encourage sports sampling. We will continue to offer flag football for the fall season.
Coaches
This program can only run with the help of our parent volunteer coaches, and if we cannot get enough parent volunteer coaches, we will not be able to run this program. Parent volunteer coaches will receive free registration for their child. If you would like to coach a team, please indicate this on the registration form or contact Nina Asher.
Referees
We are seeking community members who have experience refereeing flag football to join our team as a referee for Friday/Saturday games. If you are interested, please contact Nina Asher for more information.
