Join the City of Aspen Parks Department as a Field Technician l - Seasonal: Late April – September/October (depending on need)
Program Areas:

  • Gardening and flower crew
  • Construction Laborer
  • Irrigation technician
  • Downtown custodians
  • Urban forest team

EXAMPLE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Parks Department Field Technicians perform basic maintenance tasks throughout the summer.  Tasks may include the maintenance of parks assets (trash cans, benches, playgrounds, etc.), emptying trash cans and picking up litter within parks and public spaces, mowing of grass using a variety of push and walk behind mowers.  Some positions within the department may require irrigation maintenance, troubleshooting and operation.  Other positions include noxious weed vegetation management and tree/shrub pruning or planting.  Operation of mowers, cars/trucks, electric and gas work carts.  May be approached by citizens during working hours, responsible for responding professionally, and may direct questions to crew leaders.  Follows proper safety guidelines and responsible for use of personal protective equipment (PPE).


Minimum Education:
Graduation from high school or possession of a GED Certificate.

Minimum Experience: Landscape maintenance, custodial, irrigation maintenance, parks maintenance and tree care a plus. Valid driver’s license required.
