YOUTH CLIMBING Rock Rats Kids Classes Kids will come away with more self confidence, lots of new friends, basic climbing techniques, safety awareness, and how to have fun in an alternative sports setting. Drop-ins are only available if the class is not fully booked. No classes on observed holidays. Classes meet one day a week on the specific day registered for. If you want to do 2 classes a week then just register for multiple days.
New registration policy effective February 1st, 2012. Sign up by 18th of each month for current class participants. Sign up before first of the month to receive the base price. Sign up after the first of each month and it is $5 extra. Fees are discounted for observed holidays and weeks off.

Rock Rats - Monday 6 years and up - Max. of 6 kids Monday | 4-5:30pm $76/month or $22 Drop-in $81 on first of each month.
Rock Rats - Thursday 6 years and up - Max. of 6 kids Thursday | 4:15-5:30pm $62/month or $22 Drop-in $67 on first of each month.
Rock Rats - Intermediate Level (Sept-May) Invite Only Wednesday | 4-6pm $86/month or $24 Drop-in $91 on first of each month.
2011 Junior AROCK Unique opportunity for kids of 4-7 years old to climb outside in a beautiful and safe setting with a qualified instructor. All participants will be harnessed in on a top rope set-up, wearing helmets for safety. All technical climbing equipment will be provided.Max of 6 kids per day.
Cancellations: For 100% refund must be made 7 days before scheduled trip. A 50% refund will be provided for less than 7 days notice. No refunds for day of cancellation.

AROCK The City of Aspen Recreation Department in cooperation with Aspen Expeditions takes kids ages 8-18 out on the real rocks of Independence Pass. Join head climbing instructor Jeremy Graham, and one of A.E.'s qualified and reputable guides for a day of climbing in the mountains of Aspen. Learn the basics of knots, rope work, belaying, and leave no trace principals of outdoor recreation. No experience or technical equipment is needed to participate. We only do top-roped climbing in the outdoor setting, and all participants will wear helmets. All guides have first aid training.
Cancellations: For 100% refund must be made 7 days before scheduled trip. A 50% refund will be provided for less than 7 days notice. If the minimum number of participants is not met, a full refund will be given or credited for a future trip. We cannot afford to run trips without the minimum #s because of the logistics, and staffing required to put this program together. No refund for day of cancellations.
Daily Equipment List for Outdoor Club All equipment listed must accompany your child to ensure their well being and safety while outdoors in various weather conditions. It can get very cold in the summer months when it becomes wet, or windy. NO COTTON CLOTHING OF ANY KIND - Wet cotton does not insulate, and your kids will be cold and miserable.
Climbing Days: Warm jacket, rain jacket, pants, tennis shoes, or boots (no sandals), 2x water bottles, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, climbing shoes, chalk bag and harness (if you have them), lunch and enough snacks for a hard day of climbing at 10,000 ft above sea level!
