New! - Sewing Class!

Want to get better at sewing? Need a sewing machine to practice on? Start with the basics and progress to more challenging projects under the guidance of our accomplished instructor! Each month will have a different theme! January = Sewing Basics!

Every Tuesday from 5-7pm, Room 209 at the Aspen Recreation Center
$60 for the month or $15 drop-in!
Bring materials and threads of choice.
Sewing machines, seam rippers, scissors, and pins provided.

The ARC is pleased to host a swim meet for the Aspen High School Swim Club on Friday, January 20th.

The entire lap pool will be closed from 3pm to 10pm to host the meet.

The Aspen Parks & Recreation Department offers a wide array of activities that can help you become the healthiest you possible!

Did you know....

All fitness classes offered at the ARC or Red Brick are included in daily admission and your membership!

There is 90km of cross-country trails between Aspen, Snowmass, and Basalt and they are FREE to the public!

You can rock climb in the evenings at the Red Brick Recreation Center (Mon & Wed: 8:30am-9pm, Tues & Thurs: 8:30am-8pm, Fri: 8:30am-3pm and Sat: 5-9pm).

Our talented instructor, Elaine Kozel, is certified through The International Tang Soo Do Federation. She is a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo Do. Elaine will teach your kids the basics of karate, including self-discipline and gross motor skills. Elaine will also mentor them as they advance in the sport.

Class is held at the Aspen Recreation Center (ARC).

The Aspen Recreation Center opened the doors in April of 2003 and has been steady fixture for the community and City of Aspen.

Do you have membership questions or concerns? Want to know more about the facility or programs? Wondering what new things are coming up? Have safety and security questions? Understanding partnership and rentals? This is an opportunity to find out what is percolating with the Aspen Recreation Center in an informal question and answer session.

Outdoor Skating Pond Open for the season!

Come play outside in our Winter Wonderland!

Sledding hill is currently open!

We have an incredible sledding hill and miles of snowshoe-friendly trails!

All activities are FREE if you bring your own equipment.

You must bring your own skates to skate on the outdoor skating pond!

We have some rental equipment available:

Sleds: $5 (an adult must sign waiver at front desk)

Snowshoes: $15 rental fee plus $80 deposit (credit cards only!)

Owl Creek Chase - February 12, 2017

A 21K cross-country ski race from the Snowmass XC Center to the Aspen Cross Country Center. The challenging course from Snowmass Village to Aspen presents the very best that Colorado skiing has to offer: tough climbs, scenic views, thrilling descents and excellent snow conditions! Participants can choose between the 9:00am Classic race or 9:30am Skate race. Prize money awarded for the Classic Race only -- $1200 prize purse.
