Open – There are 12 teams at the level. The teams were divided at random into three divisions. Teams will play all the teams within their division. The top team from each division will advance to the semi-final games. Of the remaining nine teams, the team with the best overall record will advance to the semi-final round to make up the four teams. The winners of the semi-final games will advance to the Championship game. The remaining eight teams will play a consolation game. The tournament will attempt to match up teams that have not played one another over the weekend.
TOURNAMENT PLAY All games will consist of three periods. The first two periods will be 15-minute running clock. The third period will be a 15-minute stop clock. A five (5) goal differential at anytime in the third period will result in running time until the lead falls to less than five (5) goals. In the event of a running clock, the time clock will stop for penalties and injuries.
Any player assessed a gross, match, or fighting major penalty, if listed on the official score sheet will not be allowed to continue in the tournament.
This will be a no-check tournament, slap shots are allowed.
All games unless otherwise noted, have a 60-minute curfew. The score at the end of the third period or the 60-minute curfew, whichever comes first, will be used to determine the outcome of the game.
Teams will be awarded two points for a win and one point for a tie in the preliminary games played. The top seeded team will be the home team.
Ties that exist at the conclusion of a round robin or position round will be broken using the following criteria (in order until the tie is broken): 1. Most points acquired in head to head competition. 2. Most point’s acquired vs. common opponents. 3. Highest goal differential for all games played (goals for minus goals against). 4.
