Aspen Golf Club – Open When the Weather Decides

Monday, April 1st, 2013

The Aspen Golf Club opening date is a little different than last year. In 2012, the Aspen Golf Club opened right on schedule, April 1, due to the lack of snow and warm weather. This year with late spring storms the chance to get on the course may be a little longer wait.

Each year the Aspen Golf Club is scheduled to open April 1, weather dependent. “The Aspen Golf Club will be open for play in April weather dependent.  It’s been a unique winter,” said Steve Aitken CGCS Director of Golf at Aspen Golf Club, “permanent snow cover did not arrive until December 4.”

“These past two weeks of March have been unusually cold with precipitation holding the snow cover on the golf course and delaying our normal spring melt off.  It will not take long once warmer weather returns but until then we are in a holding pattern for golf,” Aitken reports.

For those of you who would like to get a jump start on your practice the golf simulator, which opened in December, will be up and running the first week in April when the Red Mountain Grill reopens.  Just $35 per hour the golf simulator allows you to play real golf with real equipment on real courses.

Inside the Aspen Golf Shop will begin adding merchandise daily. Hours of operation are from 9am-5pm daily beginning April 4. Red Mountain Grill will also be open during limited hours.

Passes for the 2013 season can still be purchased online at www.aspenrecreation.com or by visiting the Aspen Recreation Center or Red Brick Recreation Center.

Aspen Golf Club Announces Partnership with Carl Rabito Academy

Monday, May 9th, 2011

Aspen Golf Club has partnered with the prestigious Carl Rabito Golf Academy.  The Academy will offer a series of different golf instructional programs for the 2011 season.  Carl Rabito is one of 43 PGA Master Teaching Professionals and a GOLF Magazine Top 100 Teacher.

Steve Aitken, Director of Golf, stated “The addition of Rabito Golf Academy to the Aspen Golf Club has provided another high quality element to our very successful operation.  We look forward to providing top quality instruction for golfers of any skill level.”

The foundation for the methods taught at the Carl Rabito Golf Academy is built upon the anatomical principle that “structure governs function.”  Through these principles, students are successfully taught an anatomically-correct golf swing such that they can become their own teacher.  Rabito has had success with a wide range of players on the PGA, LPGA and Nationwide Tours, as well at all levels of amateur play.  He has frequent bylines in major golf publications and has several guest appearances on the Golf Channel and on XM Satellite Radio.

The Carl Rabito Golf Academy at Aspen Golf Club will offer a combination of individual, group, and multi-day lesson programs for students of all levels and abilities.  In addition, different lesson packages will be available that include video swing analysis, on-course playing lessons, short game and full swing instruction and Red Mountain Grill gift cards.  Discounts are offered for pass holders of the Aspen Golf Club.

For more information on the Carl Rabito Golf Academy at Aspen Golf Club, or to register please contact David DeMay at (352) 409-1778 or email david.rabitogolf@hotmail.com.

ABOUT CARL RABITO GOLF ACADEMY
Rabito-trained instructors employ a highly successful system of evaluation: physical ability and limitations, exercises for strength and flexibility, short-term and long-term goals. Instruction consists of basic tenets, concepts and philosophy of the swing; how the body functions in the golf swing; specific instruction for the swing; understanding the dynamics of the swing and golf-specific strength and conditioning. Golfers see results with a more efficient, reputable swing, a customized blueprint for the swing and a reduced risk of injury. Additional Carl Rabito Golf Academies are operating in Orlando, suburban Chicago, New Orleans, Dallas and Cleveland.
