Sign up to compete in the 2nd Annual Mow Down Pollution Race. At 1:45pm on the golf course driving range competitors will compete in a head to head push mower race. Competitors can sign up at the event and winners are entered into a drawing to win their very own push mower!
SMILE! The community photo will take place immediately after the Mow Down Pollution event on the driving range at 2pm.
Don’t forget to go Car Free! Please walk, ride, or bus to the event. No parking will be available at the golf course or on Cemetery Lane. There is limited parking available at the Aspen Schools and Aspen Recreation Center.A shuttle will be available from the Aspen Middle School to the golf course from 10:30am-2:30pm.
Just because it’s almost September doesn’t mean the golf season is coming to an end anytime soon. The height of the scenic fall colors and cooler temperatures makes playing the Aspen Golf Club even more enjoyable.
The Aspen Golf Club is also offering for the first time a Fall Pass. For just $299 you can enjoy unlimited golf any time, any day from September 15 – October 31.

Looking to try something new this fall? Perhaps you’ve always dreamed of walking the tightrope or flying through the air in the circus on the trapeze? Or is it more like learning how to play the guitar? Now you can do both!
Trapeze Class – Instructor Kimothy Cross. Held Tuesday evenings from 7:15-8:45pm beginning September 7 at the Red Brick Recreation Center (110 E. Hallam, Suite 135).
Cost is $20/person and includes personal instruction, guidance on the trapeze/hoop/rope ladder/swinging trapeze.

Guitar Lessons – Instructor Rob Dasara. Held Wednesdays at the Aspen Recreation Center (0861 Maroon Creek Road). This guitar workshop and basic music theory class is geared for the early level guitar students looking to learn more chords, song structure, notes, and scales.

Times: 2-2:45pm, 3-3:45pm, or 4:45pm

The Vasque Golden Leaf Half Marathon has been chosen by Trail Runner Magazine as one of “America’s 14 Most Scenic Races” and was voted by Colorado Runner Magazine as the “Best Half Marathon” in 2008.
The Golden is one of the most beautiful foot races in the Rockies. In the height of the picturesque fall colors of Colorado reds, greens, and the famous gold’s of the Aspen trees will guide runners on this challenging course from Snowmass Village to Aspen, Colorado. The course traverses the mountains of Snowmass and Aspen at breathtaking heights with fabulous mountain views. The trail can be narrow and steep at times with elevation gains of 970 feet peaking at 9,400 feet in elevation.
Unlike the many fast and flat marathons on city streets, the Golden Leaf will challenge even the toughest of marathon competitors with its rocky mountain trails.
The City of Aspen & Revolutions Skating Club is presenting their Summer Skating Spectacular – Good “Ol Summertime featuring Caryn Kadavy.
Kadavy is a World Bronze Medalist, 1988 Olympian, and US Professional Champion.
The event will be held August 22 at 6:30pm at the Lewis Ice Arena in the Aspen Recreation Center. Cost is $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. A patron pass is available for $100, which includes ice seating, reception, and an autograph photo of Kadavy.

Congrats to the racers that came out on Saturday, August 7 for the Zoot Aspen Triathlon/Duathlon/Aquabike.’
The event consisted of an 800-yard indoor pool swim at the Aspen Recreation Center, 17 mile bike to the Maroon Bells, and a 4-mile run around the Aspen Golf Club.
The Triathlon has been a long time favorite of many triathetes throughout the Roaring Fork Valley and the state of Colorado. The Triathlon is the perfect triathlon for beginner triathletes looking for a unique challenge and seasoned racers wanting to compete on a short, but challenging course. Events also included the Duathlon (Run/Bike/Run) and Aquabike (Swim/Bike). The triathlon is a USTA sanctioned event.
The youth soccer program is designed for beginners as well as the experienced player with emphasis being placed on FUN, skill development and teaching the fundamentals of the game of soccer. This program is for children ranging from kindergarten through grade 6.
Soccer starts September 2010 and concludes mid-October. Practice days are two days a week either a Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs scenario, with Friday games. Parent involvement is strongly encouraged for coaching and program support.
