Aspen Recreation Center (ARC)

Description

The Aspen Recreation Center, also known as the “ARC”, provides a variety of recreational opportunities for people of all ages. Try rock climbing for the first time, join a pick-up game of hockey, or kick back and float for hours in our lazy river.

Enjoy our state-of-the-art fitness center featuring an aerobic studio, media-enhanced cardio room with elliptical trainers, treadmills, several types of stationary bikes, as well as stair climbers, a rowing machine, and a television on each machine so you can enjoy your favorite shows while you work out. The weight room includes a number of different resistance machines for weight training.

Red Brick Recreation Center

Description

The Red Brick Recreation Center has been the cornerstone of Aspen Recreation for years and continues to offer a wide variety of 100% Pure Fun opportunities for all ages. Whatever your interest, the Red Brick Recreation Center has a program to fit your lifestyle.

From youth sports to indoor rock climbing, trapeze classes to yoga, let the friendly staff at the Red Brick Recreation Center help you plan activities for your family this summer. Aspen Ice Garden

Description

The Aspen Ice Garden, located just blocks from downtown, has a single 85’ x 185’ surface that many figure and hockey skaters say is one of the best maintained surfaces in the region. It’s great fun for big or small groups. The Aspen Ice Garden is also the perfect place for birthday parties and private rentals - call to book your party today!

The Ice Garden is also home to the Aspen Skating Club, a club member of the U.S. Figure Skating Association, and Aspen Junior Hockey, which is registered with U.S. Hockey.

Yellow Brick School

Description

Welcome to the Yellow Brick School Building.  This unique building is home to several childcare organizations who serve the residents of the Roaring Fork Valley.  For complete information on our Kids First program please call 970.920.5363.

Nordic Center

Description

The Aspen Parks Department maintains one of the largest free cross country trail systems in the United States. The Nordic trails system consists of 100 kilometers of groomed ski and snowshoe trails stretching from Aspen to Snowmass including both the Aspen Golf and Tennis Club and Snowmass Golf Club.

Golf & Tennis

Description


The Aspen Golf & Tennis Club provides a challenging 18-hole course set in the heart of the Rockies...just minutes from downtown Aspen. This 7,156-yard championship course is complete with a PGA award-winning golf shop, lessons, driving range, chipping and putting greens, cart rental and full-service locker facilities. Instruction is available by PGA staff.  Don't forget to stop by the fabulous Red Mountain Grill for a tantalizing array of fine foods and beverages. 

The Aspen Golf Club is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary and has been since January 2000. At that time we were one of only two hundred in the world and the fifth in Colorado to achieve this recognition. There are over 1,000 courses worldwide with this certification. This program is designed to recognize Golf courses that maintain and demonstrate a high degree of environmental quality. To achieve certification a Golf Course must certify in six categories: Environmental Planning, Wildlife and Habitat Management, Outreach and Education, Integrated Pest Management, and Water Quality and Water Conservation.

The City of Aspen and the Aspen Golf Course are very proud of this certification and are pleased to be leaders in the community by being environmental stewards.
